The Origins and Creative Journey of Luz Qi
Every Transformation Has a Story
Every person has a unique transformation story, and the birth of Luz Qi is the answer I discovered on my own journey of self-discovery and reinvention. From a busy urban professional in Taiwan to a mother and creator embracing the tranquility of the English countryside, this journey has not only transformed my environment but has also elevated my soul.
Childhood Dreams: The Glow of the City
I grew up in a peaceful town in Taiwan, surrounded by fields and railway tracks, where my free spirit thrived amidst nature’s embrace. One day, a relative from the city visited and painted a vivid picture of urban life—celebrities, models, and dazzling stages—which captivated my imagination. From that moment, I planted a seed of dreams in my heart, aspiring to step into that glamorous world.
From City Lights to Striving for Fame and Fortune
This desire led me into the advertising industry in Taiwan, where I became a freelancer, immersing myself fully in commercial advertisements, fashion, and film production. I worked on high-profile projects, living a fast-paced life full of accomplishments. However, over time, I realized that this lifestyle did not bring the inner fulfillment I had hoped for.
Career Burnout: Embracing a More Authentic Life
Amidst this busy life, I began to feel the pressure of career burnout. My passion for creation was consumed by endless work and the pursuit of fame and success. I had once been proud of every project, but I found myself disconnected from my inner self. I longed for a more authentic, purer way of living—one no longer dependent on external validation. These thoughts led me to make a bold decision: to leave it all behind and embrace a more authentic life with courage.
Conversations with My Parents: The Decision to Leave
Leaving behind the city life in Taiwan was not an easy decision. I knew it would change not only my life but also my relationship with my parents. They had always been my guiding lights. After long conversationswhere I shared my doubts and dreams, they eventually understood and supported my choice. Their love and support became the strength I needed to embark on this new journey with bravery.
A Brave Turning: Moving to the UK Countryside
So, I made the decision to leave Taiwan and move to the UK to start a new chapter. At the time, my English was basic, and I was filled with uncertainty and fear. However, it was these challenges that became the driving force within me. On this unfamiliar land, I found more opportunities to listen to my inner voice and space to redefine myself.
I will always remember the moment I first arrived in the UK, packing my luggage on the last day in Taiwan, filled with unease. It was one of the most significant decisions of my life, and I had no confidence in this new environment. Fear and uncertainty crept into my heart, but I knew there was no turning back. The only option was to move forward with courage.
A miracle happened. Upon arriving at the UK airport, I met a kind gentleman at the train station who offered to help me with my two large suitcases. This small act of kindness eased my fears. The next day, on the train to my language school, I met another student heading to the same school who also lived on the same street—an incredible stroke of luck. These new friendships and adventures, from exploring the UK together to working in Scotland and Windermere, enriched my life and showed me the kindness of strangers.

Love and Support: Meeting My Husband
A year later, through a chance encounter, I met my husband. Our meeting felt like fate, and he became my most important supporter and companion. With his presence, I gradually rediscovered my passion for life and creative energy. This relationship gave me endless strength and courage, allowing me to remain true to myself and embrace life in this unfamiliar land.
The Tranquility of Nature and Creative Awakening
Leaving Taiwan’s bustling city life was difficult, but it was necessary. The English countryside, with its rolling hills, quiet fields, and timeless charm, gave me the space to breathe again. The misty mornings, golden afternoons, and still evenings became my daily companions. In this environment, I found not only peace but also a creative awakening.
Nature taught me to slow down, to notice the details, and to embrace imperfection. The countryside reminded me that beauty is not always loud or dazzling—it can be found in the smallest of moments: the way sunlight filters through leaves, the sound of rain against the window, or the laughter of my children playing in the garden.
The Birth of Luz Qi Art
It was in this setting that Luz Qi Art was born. “Luz” means light, symbolizing warmth, clarity, and inspiration. “Qi” means breath or life force, representing vitality, blessings, and hope. Together, they embody my philosophy of creation: to bring light and life into art, to share love, and to offer healing.
My art became more than just paintings—it became a way of living. Each piece I create carries with it a memory, a feeling, or a story. A flower might hold the memory of a walk with my children. A landscape might reflect the calm of an afternoon spent together. My art is a diary of emotions, a way to honor the past, embrace the present, and share hope for the future.
Healing Through Creativity
Art has the power to heal—not only the artist but also those who encounter it. When I paint, I find peace andclarity. When I share my work, I hope to offer the same to others. A painting can be a reminder to pause, to breathe, and to reconnect with what truly matters.
The countryside continues to teach me this lesson every day. Its landscapes remind me that life moves in cycles, that every season has its beauty, and that stillness is as valuable as movement. By translating these lessons into my art, I hope to create works that bring comfort and inspiration to others.
Closing Reflection
My journey from Taiwan’s city hustle to the creative heart of the English countryside has been one of courage, transformation, and love. Luz Qi Art is not just about paintings—it is about light, breath, memory, and the beauty of everyday life.
This is my story: a path shaped by the tranquility of nature, the warmth of family, and the enduring power of love. Through my art, I continue to honor the past, embrace the present, and share hope for the future.
