These thoughts ultimately led me to make a bold decision: to leave it all behind and pursue a more authentic life with bravery.

Leaving behind the familiar urban life was not an easy decision. I knew it would not only change my life but also affect my parents. So, I decided to leave the familiar city and move to the UK to begin a new journey. At that time, my English wasn’t very good—I could only manage very basic, simple communication. I was filled with uncertainty and the unknown about the future. However, it was these unknown challenges that became the driving force within me. On this unfamiliar land, I found more opportunities to listen to my inner voice and more space to redefine myself.

I will always remember when I first came to the UK alone, deciding not to have my mom send me off because I knew it would make her feel sad. I also remember packing my luggage on the last day, filled with unease. It was one of the most significant decisions of my life, and I had no confidence in this completely new environment and culture.

All the fear and uncertainty slowly crept into my heart. However, I knew there was no turning back, and the only option was to move forward with courage. At that moment, although I had no confidence and felt unsafe, I trusted that God would accompany me on this difficult journey and guide me through.

A Miracle Happened

As soon as I arrived at the UK airport, I encountered some kind-hearted people, especially a gentleman at the train station. Seeing me struggling with two large suitcases and needing to go down a flight of stairs, he proactively offered his help, assisting me in getting my luggage down. This small act of kindness eased my fears just a little.

The Miraculous Encounter With My Polish Friend

I remember my first encounter with her; I felt a bit hesitant. She was a cool foreign girl with smoky makeup, looking rather unapproachable. At that moment, I was checking if I got on the right train, so I mustered the courage to ask her. She glanced at my papers and replied coldly, “You’re on the right train.” My heart relaxed a little at that moment.

However, what surprised me even more was when, a few minutes later, she spoke to me again: “Are you going to that language school? So am I!” I couldn’t believe that in such a bustling train station, I had met another student who was heading to the same school the next day! It was incredible! And more astonishingly, after we got off the train, we discovered that we lived on the same street, revealing how close our homes were—truly a blessing from God.

This unexpected meeting filled me with surprise and warmth, adding a special touch to my new life in the UK. It was not only the beginning of a friendship but also a reminder that no matter where we are, there will always be beautiful encounters that bring joy and strength to our lives.

New Friendships And Adventures

The next day, I met another young girl friend from Taiwan. She was incredibly friendly and warm, always wearing a bright smile. Every time after class, they would come to my classroom to find me and chat. From that first day, I had new companions in the UK. A few months later, my Polish friend returned home, and although we stayed in touch for a while, we eventually lost contact due to our busy lives. But I will always remember that day of our encounter and the image of us dragging our suitcases! This miraculous blessing allowed me to meet incredible friends along the way!

Later, I became very close friends with this Taiwanese girl, and together we explored the UK, looking for schools and jobs. Over time, we started to meet more friends and even worked in Scotland and Windermere. That New Year, we were working in a hotel in Scotland, watching fireworks while calling my parents to chat and enjoying the beautiful scenery. This experience enriched my life, and I became fascinated with Scottish traditional dances.

One year later, through a chance encounter, I met my husband. Our meeting felt like fate, and he became my most important supporter and companion in the UK. With his company, I gradually rediscovered my passion for life and creative drive. This relationship brought me endless strength and courage, allowing me to remain true to myself and live my life fully in this unfamiliar land.

Together, we’ve faced challenges and shared joy and achievements. This relationship made me realize that love and support are the most important driving forces in life. It not only kept me from feeling alone in times of difficulty but also filled me with confidence for the future. Every moment shared with my husband has become one of my most cherished memories, infusing my life with endless color and meaning.

The decision to leave the city was not easy, but it was necessary. Living in the UK countryside has given me the peace and space to truly connect with myself, my family, and nature. It’s here, amidst rolling hills, lush gardens, and the tranquil countryside, that I’ve found the inspiration to create Luz Qi.

As a mother, I began to see the world through the eyes of my children, appreciating the fleeting beauty in everyday moments— laughter shared over a meal, the sparkle in their eyes, the playfulness of their small hands. This led to my creation of family-inspired stories and artwork that reflect the joy, love, and wonder of parenthood.

The Bittersweet Reunion In Heaven

Becoming a mother has taught me the depth of my parents’ love and the countless sacrifices they made for me. Their love was profound and selfless, a quiet force that shaped my life. A few years after I moved to the UK, my father passed away due to illness. His loss was a deep wound in my heart, one that time could never fully heal. Just four years later, my mother followed him to heaven. Losing them both in such close succession felt like a chapter of my life had closed forever. Yet, I take solace in the thought of them reunited in heaven, holding hands once more, as they had always been in life.

Now, I live in the serene English countryside, surrounded by rolling meadows and tranquil fields. I often gaze at the sky, imagining their loving presence watching over me from above. My longing for them and my gratitude have only grown stronger with time. As I shared in my third book, Love Never Ends, love transcends life and death—it never stops. One day, I know we will meet again.

Until that day comes, I will honor their love by sharing their stories with my children, ensuring that their legacy lives on. I will also treasure the present, living each day to the fullest, because I know that is what they would have wanted for me.
