Creative Inspiration
In 2018, filled with love and dreams, a unique childhood gift was created for two daughters: three picture books written and illustrated by hand, accompanied by original music. With wholehearted support from family and a collection of art supplies, the journey of creation began.
During slow-living days in the English countryside, rainy days felt especially long. Sitting together, watching raindrops outside the window and listening to innocent laughter, these ordinary moments became the wellspring of inspiration. Painting, singing, and imagining worlds in the rain became daily rituals. The elder daughter contributed her own drawings, while the younger sang the melodies with a tender voice. All of this filled “Rainy Day” with the warmth and stories of family.
Features of the Work
Mixed Media Illustrations: A Warm and Layered Visual Feast
Paper cutting, acrylic paint, beads, and other materials were used to create pages that are both three-dimensional and full of warmth. Every page contains love and details from the family. The two little girls in the book are modeled after the daughters—their innocence and courage are the soul of the story.
Original Nursery Rhyme: The Magic of Parent-Child Resonance
The music was composed within the family, and sung with the most sincere voice. This nursery rhyme is not just background music, but an integral part of the story. Whenever the song is sung together, even the rain seems to become gentle. This parent-child collaboration in music turns reading into a beautiful, multi-sensory experience.
